When A.I. arrived, I lost any interest in Photoshop and Illustrator,
-it was all too depressing.....
 

JACK MCCOY ALOHA
Just after lockdown I was blessed by an 'out of the blue' contact
from the wonderful surf cinematographer Jack Mccoy ,
Jack graciously offered his entire back catalog of images and videos
for me to infuse with my collected patterns - we spent many months
'talking story' on facetime, selecting and working toward
having a collaboration show in Byron Bay in a year or so on
During this time Jack embarked on his 'Occy the Occumentary'
tour with genius surfer Mark Occhilupo. He took these
shows around the East Coast and was a great success.
He was stoked with the reception and immediately started organizing
what was to be his final tour showcasing 'Blue Horizon'
which follows the lives of former world surfing champion Andy Irons 
and soul surfer Dave 'Rasta' Rastovich.
Jack's health was not the best and he was still suffering from
the catastrophic effects of an farming accident a few years earlier
Jack sadly passed away toward the end of this tour and I deeply
miss the yarns we had online together, Jack selecting photos in his wheelchair
with a cheeky nip of whiskey and the endless stories of all the early and pivotal days of surfing. Jack's life ended doing what he did best - 'sharing the stoke'.
He was so full of drive and positivity and he could literally talk underwater!
I really miss the man.
So I couldn't get to Sydney for the memorial for Jack 
but spoke to Jack's family after their terrible loss 
and they have graciously allowed me permission to continue this project. 
Its taken me a while to get my act together 
but after a very, very long break I hope to return to 
this work soon, but this time painting in oils and acrylics..
